Settings

This section contains an overview of the Xtract Universal.iQ system settings in the Settings menu. Any changes made in this menu only take effect after restarting the Xtract Universal.iQ container.

Host Lookup

The section Host Lookup contains settings that determine the hostname of Xtract Universal.iQ services.

Generate Hostname

Determines Xtract Universal.iQ's hostname based on the current configuration. The hostname is displayed in the field Service worker hostname. Use this option to verify the hostname of Xtract Universal.iQ services, when using TLS or when the service URL is explicitly set elsewhere.

Services Endpoint

The section Services Endpoint contains settings that define the endpoint of Xtract Universal.iQ services. Changing the settings regenerates all OpenAPI definitions, but does not impact access to the Xtract Universal.iQ web UI.

Service URL

The Service URL defines the URL used to connect to Xtract Universal.iQ services.

Service URL Description
Default If TLS is active, the first Subject Alternative Name provided by the X.509 certificate is used as the hostname, see Transport Layer Security. Wildcard certificates are supported, unless MCP integration is activated. Enter the hostname of the certificate as a custom endpoint.
Custom Allows you to enter a custom hostname. Enter the hostname in the field Custom base URL and click [Save] to update the OpenAPI definitions of all existing services.
Azure Relay Hybrid Connection When an Azure Relay Hybrid Connection is set up, Xtract Universal.iQ services use an Azure Relay address to become accessible to applications running in the Azure cloud. Enter the connection string in Azure Relay connection string. For more information on Azure Relay, see Establish an Azure Relay Hybrid Connection to Xtract Universal.iQ.

Tip

To set up multiple endpoints, use multiple instances of Xtract Universal.iQ, one for each endpoint.

OpenAPI Target

The OpenAPI Target defines which properties to add to the Swagger/OpenAPI json file of Xtract Universal.iQ services.

OpenAPI Target Description
Default If this option is active, the Swagger/OpenAPI json file contains no additional properties.
Nintex Gateway Select this option when integrating Xtract Universal.iQ services with the Nintex Gateway. Nintex properties are added to into Swagger/OpenAPI json file and there is no need to manually change the swagger definition. For more information, see Integrate a Service via Nintex Gateway.

Transport Layer Security

The Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol allows users to securely communicate with Xtract Universal.iQ service by encrypting the communication. For more information, see Microsoft Documentation: Transport Layer Security Protocol.

TLS requires the installation of an X.509 certificate, see Knowledge Base Article: Install an X.509 Certificate.

Pick certificate

Opens a list of available certificates that can be used to enable TLS for Xtract Universal.iQ.

Enable TLS

Once a certificate is loaded in Xtract Universal.iQ, the option Enable TLS is available. When the option Enable TLS is active, transport encryption is enabled for services and the Xtract Universal.iQ web UI. To access the Xtract Universal.iQ web UI via TLS, restart Xtract Universal.iQ and connect to the web UI using the following URL pattern:

https://[host]:[port]

Services

The section Services contains the port settings for service consumption. These ports are used by the web server that handles requests to invoke a service. Valid port numbers range from 1-65535. It is not recommended to use ports below 1000, because they are often already taken and using them with different services can lead to service disruptions.

Default ports:

  • HTTP (without Transport Layer Security): 8075
  • HTTPS (with Transport Layer Security): 8175

Web UI / MCP

The section Web UI/MCP contains the port settings for the Xtract Universal.iQ web UI and the Xtract Universal.iQ MCP server. Valid port numbers range from 1-65535.

Default ports:

  • HTTP (without Transport Layer Security): 8077
  • HTTPS (with Transport Layer Security, for MCP): 8177

Enable MCP Server Endpoint

When the option Enable MCP Server Endpoint is active, the Xtract Universal.iQ MCP server is available at https://<hostname>.com:8177/mcp. The MCP server can be used to integrate Xtract Universal.iQ services with AI platforms that support the Model Context Protocol.

Set up Transport Layer Security to ensure secured communication to the MCP server. For more information, see MCP Server.

WebSockets

The section WebSockets contains the port settings for the Xtract Universal.iQ WebSocket. Valid port numbers range from 1-65535.

Default ports:

  • HTTP (without Transport Layer Security): 8076
  • HTTPS (with Transport Layer Security): 8176

Usage Data

To improve Xtract Universal.iQ and better cater to customer needs, Xtract Universal.iQ collects usage data, e.g., the components that are in use, referenced SAP objects, statistics about data extractions, etc. For more information, refer to our privacy policy.

Upload Usage Data

When this checkbox is active, Xtract Universal.iQ sends usage data to Theobald Software for analysis. An internet connection is required to use this option.

Transfer SAP Object Names

When this checkbox is active, Xtract Universal.iQ includes the names of the SAP objects used in extractions in the usage data upload.
