Connections
This page shows how to create and manage connections in Xtract Universal.iQ. Connections are required to connect services to SAP source systems and target environments (destinations).
SAP Connection
Creating an SAP connection is a prerequisite for using Xtract Universal.iQ. The SAP objects you want to access determine the authorization objects required for the SAP dialog user configured in the SAP connection.
For more information, see SAP Requirements.
To use an SAP source connection in Xtract Universal.iQ:
- Create a connection to a supported SAP system.
- Assign the SAP connection to a service.
For more information, see SAP Connection.
Destinations
Xtract Universal.iQ provides HTTP as a default destination. The HTTP destination returns data in the HTTP response of a service call. The destinations that are available to you depend on your license.
To write SAP data to a specific target environment:
- Create a connection to a supported destination.
- Assign the destination to a service.
- Define the properties of the output in the service settings, e.g., filename, column names, etc.
For more information, see Destinations.
Manage Connections
Edit a Connection
To modify an existing connection:
- Open the Connections menu.
- Select a connection.
- Click [ Edit]. The connection settings open.
- Make the necessary changes.
- Click [Save].
The connection is updated. Services that use the connection are affected by the update.
Delete Connections
To delete a connection that is not in use anymore:
- Open the Connections menu.
- Select one or more connections.
- Click [...More > Delete]. A confirmation window opens.
- Click [OK] to delete the connection.
The connection is removed from the Connections menu. Services that still use the connection stop working.
Restrict Access to Connections
You can set up access restrictions to a connection to ensure that the connection can only be modified by trained users. For more information, see Connection Level Access.
