SAP OData Connection
This page contains an overview of all settings for SAP OData connections.
About SAP OData
SAP OData connections allow you to connect to SAP systems — both on-premises and cloud — using the OData (Open Data Protocol). OData is a standard for creating, reading, updating, and deleting data using RESTful HTTP messages. For more information, see SAP Help: OData Services.
Note
The SAP OData connection only supports the service type ODP OData.
SAP OData Connection Settings
To open the connection settings of an existing SAP connection:
- Open the Connections menu.
- Select an SAP OData connection.
- Click [ Edit].
The connection settings of the SAP OData connection open and can be modified.
System
The section System defines which SAP system Xtract Universal.iQ connects to.
Base URL
Enter the base URL (protocol, hostname and port) of your SAP system. Examples:
- SAP on-premises systems:
http://sap-erp-as05.example.com:50000 - SAP cloud systems:
https://my123456.s4hana.cloud.sap
The URL can be requested from the SAP Basis team.
Client
Enter the three-digit number of the SAP client between 000 and 999, e.g., 800. If left empty, the connection uses the default client of the SAP system.
Username
When connecting to an SAP on-premises system, enter the username of an SAP dialog user. When connecting to an SAP private or public cloud system, enter the username of an SAP Communication User.
Password
Enter the password of the SAP user.
Test Connect
Click [Test Connect] to test the OData connection.
The radio buttons OData V2 and OData V4 indicate which OData protocol versions are enabled. For more information about OData protocol versions, see OData V2 and OData V4.
