Getting Started
Xtract Universal.iQ is a modern platform for designing, automating, and integrating SAP processes into your workflows and data environments.
To get started with the Xtract Universal.iQ Designer:
- Get Xtract Universal.iQ up and running, see Run in Docker.
- Create a connection to an SAP source system, see SAP Connection.
- Connect your service to a target environment, see Destinations.
- Create services that access SAP data, see Services.
- Run your services:
- directly in Xtract Universal.iQ, see Run Services.
- automatically at set intervals, see Schedule Services.
- from a 3rd party platform of your choice, see 3rd Party Integration.
- as MCP tools in your AI platform, see MCP Server.
Key Features
The Xtract Universal.iQ Designer allows you to create individual REST-based services to read, write and integrate SAP data from connected SAP systems. Xtract Universal.iQ offers:
- Flexible Deployment: Run Xtract Universal.iQ in on-premises and private cloud environments.
- AI-Ready SAP Integration: Expose SAP data to AI agents through Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoints.
- Open Data Integration: Deliver SAP data to a wide range of target environments, including cloud storages, analytics platforms, business intelligence tools, and automation solutions and reduce vendor lock-in.
- Built-In Scheduler: Automate data extraction and integration processes using the integrated scheduler.
- SAP Compliance: Rely on SAP-compliant access methods and Clean Core-aligned function modules.
Main Components
SAP Connections
SAP connections define how to connect to SAP source systems, such as ECC, S/4HANA (private and public cloud), and BW and BW4/HANA systems.
Destinations
Destinations refer to supported target environments for SAP data. Connect to destinations to define where extracted data is written, e.g., cloud storage, analytics platforms, or databases.
Services
Services are the main components of Xtract Universal.iQ. Each service represents a specific data extraction or integration scenario and is based on a service type that determines its functionality and configuration.
MCP Server
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server exposes Xtract Universal.iQ services through a standardized interface for AI applications. It enables AI agents and platforms to access SAP data in a controlled and structured manner.
Scheduler
The scheduler automates the execution of services. You can create recurring jobs to extract, transfer, or update data at defined intervals without manual intervention.
