Licensing
This page contains information on Xtract Universal licenses.
About the Licensing Concept of Xtract Universal
The software is licensed under a subscription model. A fixed annual fee covers usage, updates, and support. The contract is renewed automatically unless terminated at least three months before the start of the next subscription period.
The annual subscription fee depends on the following license properties:
- The number of servers that run data extractions.
- The destinations to which data is written.
- The number of configured extractions.
Note
An unlimited number of SAP systems can be connected.
Server Licensing
Xtract Universal is licensed per Windows server. This also applies to non-production environments such as test, development, and quality assurance systems.
The license is bound to your company and a specific server name. If you run the Xtract Universal Designer and the Xtract Universal Server on different machines, it is only necessary to apply the license to the server.
Licensing by Extractions
The annual subscription fee depends on the scope of usage, specifically the number of configured extractions. The stadard license includes 100 extractions. The execution frequency of the extractions is not relevant.
Tip
Experience shows that medium-sized businesses use fewer than 100 extractions. The number of defined extractions and other license information is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the Designer.
Licensing by Destination
The annual subscription fee depends on the number of target environments to which data is written.
Install a License
A trial license is automatically installed with the installation of Xtract Universal.
A regular license is provided in the customer portal - My Theobald Software after purchasing the product.
Place the license file "XtractUniversalLicense.json"into the installation directory on the server, e.g., C:\Program Files\XtractUniversal
.
Tip
To inspect your current license data, open the Xtract Universal Designer and navigate to [Help] > [Info] in the main menu bar. Alternatively, press [F12].
Move the License to a new Server
When moving your setup to a new server, a new license file must be issued for that server. Contact our sales team at sales@theobald-software.com to let us know the name of the new server.
For more information on the migration process, see Migration to a Different Machine.
